By far the weakest part of my game is going on "tilt", I have read many books, know the odds better than most, and am fairly good at reading people's betting patterns... However, once i take 3 or 4 bad beats in a short period of time I totally get blown off my game. More than once online, I have played solid poker in a 1/2 nl game and made around 2-3 hundred dollars over 3-4 hours, only to piss it away in 15 minutes. What do you guys do when you go on tilt??? I find it very hard to just walk away from the game, even if I'm even for the session it feels like i'm "stuck"... Any info much appreciated, thx

"Challenging 'donkeys' to heads-up freeze-out when your on tilt and your ego is bruised sets you up to lose your bankroll." THAT SOUNDS JUST LIKE MY DUMBASS... Thanks for the read BIGPERMMM, great article, a lot of great points in there...:103631605

You know that is a valid question Roy. The two poker books I have read, were great on pre-flop, flop and river strategies etc, etc, etc...but not once did it mention what one should do when they go on TILT. We all have done it and more times than not it has cost us.

I know I takes great discipline to just get up and walk away. Hell to me it feels that if I were to get up and walk away that I was quitting and letting someone take my pride.

My Fiancee notices when I start go get ready to go on tilt and she always tells me that it's my last hand because we are going somewhere. It works so far.

Wish I could help, but I'm on a 40 day and $6000.00 tilt myself:pucking:.

Let me know what works ASAP.

P.S. I know drinking does not work but it sure make me feel better.

This is no joke now. I would get so fired up after a bad beat that I would start swearing and basically go all in the VERY next hand. Well after dumbing a ton of money this way I started to just tell myself that in the long run I made the right play and will win money doing that same thing over the long term. Well that worked for a bit.

Now I went out and bought a boxing bag. When I take a bad beat online and am fired up I go to the bag and punch it as hard and fast as I can for about 15 seconds (which feels like 5 minutes) and when I come back to the computer I am too tired to tilt. It has saved me from tilting TONS of times now and the money for the bag is easily made up in saving money from tilting.

It's just a thought....it has worked for me now.

No one can probably provide you a answer since everyone of us are doing the samething over and over again.

There're many good articles about the tilt things, however, it's easy for the author to wrote it down, but you know when it comes to that, they will just do those stupid things just as everybody else.

Alright guys think I've figured out a solution, pretty sure this will work for all of us so next time you're on tilt.... Just rub one out, totally relaxes you...

Not sure how this is gonna work in a live game, will give you a report next time I go to the casino and take a bad beat...

what one should do when they go on TILT. I think the best thing that could happen is to go on a winning streak!

As what mentioned by others there is a solution but as all us Gamblers know the sure fire way to forget about loses is with wins. We are all so far away from reality when we are @ the Track or in a Poker room that the only solution to our disease is another hand or one more race which can be:nohead: dangerous:toast:

Rubbing one out when you face a bad beat just make sure that you lube up as angry sex is never good by yourself. You might open a new thread about "skin graphs on your member".
